What AI assistants say about clinics in Round Rock, Georgetown and the Austin metro
When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Mode for a dentist in Round Rock, the assistant names two or three practices and ignores the rest. This page shows a real example of that answer, explains why those practices were chosen, and lets you request the same check for your own practice, free and with no obligation.

What is the check?
The check is 10 questions a patient might ask an AI assistant, put to five assistants, three times each, with the answers recorded and screenshotted. For a dental practice in Round Rock the 10 prompts look like this:
- “Who is the best dentist in Round Rock?”
- “Emergency dentist open now near Round Rock”
- “Who does Invisalign in Round Rock?”
- “Dentist in Round Rock that takes Delta Dental”
- “Dental implants Round Rock cost”
- “Gentle dentist for anxious patients near Round Rock”
- “Pediatric dentist Round Rock”
- “Dentist near Teravista”
- “Sedation dentistry Round Rock”
- “[Practice name] reviews”
For each prompt and each assistant we record: named or not named, position, which other practices were named, and the sources the assistant cited. The result is a table like the one below, plus the screenshots.
What did the assistants say for “dentist in Round Rock”?
They each named two or three practices, cited Google profiles, Yelp, Healthgrades, a local news list and the practices’ own websites as sources, and left most of the city’s dental practices out. The example below is a described run; practice names are withheld here and shown in full in your own check.
ChatGPT with search, asked “Who is a good dentist in Round Rock, TX?”, returned a short list of three practices with a sentence on each: one described as a family practice with high ratings and same-day emergency care, one as a cosmetic and implant practice with a named dentist and their training, one as a pediatric practice. It cited the practices’ Google profiles, two Yelp pages, one Healthgrades profile and a local news “top dentists” article. Every practice it named had a page on its site answering what its services cost.

Perplexity, asked the same question, named two of the same three plus one different practice, with numbered citations to Google Maps, Yelp and each practice’s website. It quoted a sentence directly from one practice’s implant page.

Google AI Mode produced a longer answer with a map, naming four practices and summarising their reviews, drawing on the Google Business Profile of each and on review text.
| Prompt | ChatGPT | Perplexity | Google AI Mode | Gemini | Copilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Good dentist in Round Rock | Practice A, B, C | A, B, D | A, B, C, E | A, C | A, B |
| Emergency dentist open now | B, F | B | B, F, G | B | B, F |
| Invisalign in Round Rock | C, H | C | C, H | C, H | C |
| Takes Delta Dental | A | A, D | A, D | none named | A |
| Implant cost | C (quoted price range) | C | C, E | C | C |
Practice A appears in almost every answer. Practice C appears for every implant and Invisalign prompt. Roughly thirty other dental practices in Round Rock appear in none.
Why were those practices named and not the others?
Because the assistants could read them, identify them and corroborate them. When we compared the named practices with ten that were not named, the differences were consistent:
- Crawler access. All named practices allowed AI crawlers. Six of the ten unnamed practices blocked at least one of GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot, usually through a security plugin default.
- Direct answers. Named practices had a page per service that stated what it is, who it is for and what it costs. Unnamed practices mostly had one Services page.
- Consistent listings. Named practices had the same name, address, phone and description on Google, Yelp, Healthgrades and their own site. Unnamed practices often had an old address or a different practice name somewhere.
- Reviews with detail. Named practices had reviews that mentioned the treatment, the dentist by name, and how costs were explained. That text is what the assistants summarised.
- Named providers. Named practices had a bio page per dentist with school and memberships. Several unnamed practices had no provider pages at all.
None of this requires a bigger budget than the unnamed practices already spend. It requires the foundation described on the AI search visibility page, which the $900 AI Readiness Setup delivers in 10 business days.

Frequently asked questions
What is the AI visibility check?
We ask ChatGPT with search, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot for a provider like you in your city, using 10 prompts, each run three times. We record whether your practice is named, in what position, which competitors are named, and which sources each assistant cited. You get the screenshots and a short note on the likely reasons.
Is the check really free?
Yes. It costs us a few cents in API calls and about half an hour. There is no obligation, and you get the screenshots whether or not we ever talk again.
How long does it take to get the results?
Usually within three business days. If your practice is one we have already checked as part of a wider city sweep, sooner.
Why does the assistant give different answers each time?
Assistant answers vary between runs because they sample from several sources and phrase answers differently each time. That is why we run each prompt three times and report “named in 2 of 3” rather than a single result.
What if the assistant says something wrong about my practice?
That happens, and the cause is almost always a stale directory or an old Google profile that the assistant is quoting. The check tells you which source it cited so it can be fixed. Fixing the source and re-checking in 2 to 4 weeks is part of the AI Readiness Setup.
Do you need access to anything to run the check?
No. The check uses public information only: your practice name, city and website. We do not need logins, and we do not need or want any patient information.
What happens after the check?
You get the screenshots and a note. If you want the full picture, the free Local Search Health Report adds your Google profile, geo-grid rankings, website and reviews, scored out of 100. If you want the causes fixed, the AI Readiness Setup is $900 one-time; see pricing.
